Why undertake this Questionnaire?
Your direct manager, or a manager who works very closely to you, is to undergo the Martlet Consulting Leadership Development Programme. As part of the preparation for the programme, and in particular, to understand more about the individual's strengths and development needs, they will be asking a number of different people to provide them with an overview of their performance in five key areas, referred to in the programme as Core Themes. You are being asked to rate your manager accordingly in terms of your experience of their strengths and development needs in each of these areas, and as they progress through the programme you will be asked again to rate their improvement and consistency on a regular basis. This initial survey will provide clear areas for focus during the programme, providing a key benchmark, and will enable the individual to assess their progress once the programme has begun.
What are the Core Themes?
The Core Themes are Responsible Leadership, Improving Performance, Effective Communication, Developing Self and Others and Focus / Clarity of Purpose. These five areas have been identified as essential skills for effective leaders, both internally to your organisation and externally to your clients and competitors, and the programme has been designed to maximise each individual's skill and ability in these key areas.
What is the questionnaire for?
The questionnaire is to provide each individual going through the programme a clear view of the effectiveness of their leadership skills and the impact on their team. There will be a series of regular reviews to establish improvement or consistency against each of the individual questions under the Core Themes. This will provide the individual, and their manager, with an overview of progress, and will provide the organisation with an overview of the effectiveness of the programme itself.
